Art Business News Recognizes PS Artist Melvin Hale

Palm Springs Fine Artist Melvin Hale Featured as a Trendsetter in Art Business News Magazine

Headshot

The award-winning art of Melvin Hale has been featured in the March 2008 issue of Art Business News, the art industry’s leading trade publication.  Hale was named a Trendsetter in their magazine section reserved for emerging artists to watch.  Art Business News is the ultimate go-to publication for art publishers, suppliers and manufacturers aiming to reach the largest number of industry decision makers.  The publication also produces the international trade show, Artexpo New York.   Since debuting in 1978, Artexpo New York has helped launch the careers of some of the finest American artists of the 20th century, including Andy Warhol, Peter Max and Leroy Neiman.   A link to the article is at www.mhalegallery.com/trendsetter_emergingartist.pdf.

Artwork in the article on Hale featured Radio City Hollywoodland, a view of world-famous Sunset and Vine streets in Hollywood with a rare peek at the Hollywoodland sign in the background, Chi Chi & Cubana, a colorized landscape of famous Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs and Billie Holiday a tribute portrait of the jazz legend.  Hale digitally colorizes vintage images taken from aged black and white photos, which he calls digital realism.  “I feel honored that my work has been selected to appear in the art world’s #1 publication.  This further demonstrates the appeal of digital realism, which is what I call my artistic style, and combines vintage, midcentury and modern landscapes into a new art form that gives one the feeling of actually experiencing the time, mood and freshness of that day, even if it was more than 50 years ago” said Hale.

In addition to being an artist, Hale runs a fine art publishing business and studio based in Palm Springs, California.  His originals and limited editions on canvas are collected worldwide.  Hale’s latest work is called Glorifried Ham and Eggs at Tom Brennemans, Hollywood.  For more information on the Art Business News feature, or Melvin Hale’s work, visit online or call (760) 808-4824.
